• WWE said that Houston’s Minute Maid Park would host the Royal Rumble on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020. The event will mark the second time the Royal Rumble has been held at a baseball stadium following this year’s event at Phoenix’ Chase Field (before a capacity crowd of 48,193). The event will stream live around worldwide on WWE Network.

• SportsEngine, Inc., an NBC Sports Group company and a leading provider of Sport Relationship Management software, is partnering with USA Hockey to promote participation in youth hockey during USA Hockey’s Hockey Week Across America (Feb. 17 - 24) and USA Hockey’s Try Hockey for Free Day (Feb. 23).

• MLS said its board of governors has extended the contract of commissioner Don Garber through the 2023 season. Garber, 61, has been commissioner since 1999, overseeing the league expanding from 12 to 27 clubs, adding 25 new owners and developing 19 soccer stadiums across the U.S. and Canada.

• Al Horford of the Boston Celtics is the new national NBA face for Built With Chocolate Milk. A TV and digital campaign will “spotlight his balanced approach to performance, recovery and nutrition. WWE Planning Gala Event To Celebrate 'Monday Night Raw' 25th Anniversary

October 30, 2017: In January 1993, Bill Clinton was sworn in as the 42nd President of the U.S., Super Bowl XXVII was won by the Dallas Cowboys and the halftime star was Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” was No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and WWE’s Monday Night Raw made its debut on Jan. 11, 1993 from the Grand Ballroom in New York’s Manhattan Center on USA Network.

Monday Night Raw has become, according to WWE, the longest-running, weekly episodic program in U.S. prime time TV history.

On Jan. 22, 2018, the 25th anniversary of Monday Night Raw will emanate from Barclays Center in Brooklyn and Manhattan Center and air live on USA Network (8 PM EST).

For its silver anniversary, WWE said that its stars present and past would come out to celebrate.

WWE Superstars from both Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live will be at Barclays Center, while the event at Manhattan Center, the site of the first episode of Raw, will feature both WWE Superstars competing and special appearances by WWE Legends, including special appearances by WWE Legends Undertaker, Shawn Michaels and Kevin Nash.

In its 25-year history, Raw has helped to launch the careers of such stars as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Undertaker, Triple H, John Cena and The Bella Twins.

“We look forward to celebrating this unmatched milestone with our fans around the world,” Vince McMahon, WWE chairman and CEO, said in a statement. “But 25 years only marks the beginning of WWE surprising, delighting and entertaining generations to come,”

Tickets will available for each event starting Nov. 3 through all Ticketmaster outlets.
