• Bluberi Gaming has signed a deal with WWE to develop a series of licensed slot games featuring WWE Superstars and Legends. Among those to be featured include John Cena, Triple H, Becky Lynch, Roman Reigns and Ronda Rousey, along with such Legends as Hulk Hogan, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels. The first WWE series of slot games is scheduled to hit casinos October 2020.

• HarperCollins Publishers said it has acquired world rights to Back, the first memoir authored by Tiger Woods. According to Woods, “This book is my definitive story. It’s in my words and expresses my thoughts. It describes how I feel and what’s happened in my life.” A publication date was not given.

• Turner Sports’ eLeague has signed a deal with tech solutions and services provider CDW to “create enhanced fan experiences across eLeague’s properties on TV, digital, social and in-arena.” The alliance also names CDW an “official arena partner” for eLeague and the Rocket League Championship Series. • San Manuel Casino, under the auspices of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, has signed a deal to become a Founding Partner for Allegiant Stadium, scheduled to open at the home of the Raiders for the 2020 NFL season when the franchise relocates from Oakland to Las Vegas.

• Halloween this year is Oct. 31, and retailers, marketers and consumers are ready for another season of trick-or-treat. Total spend on Halloween 2019 is expected to reach $8.8 billion according to the National Retail Federation, Washington, DC. Full story here. 

• The Paley Center for Media, NY, will honor the 100th season of the NFL with a new exhibit: "A Century of Football: Celebrating the NFL’s 100th Season," free and open to the public (thru Oct. 27).

Snickers Sweetens Presence At WWE WrestleMania 35, Skittles Gets Hell in a Cell

WWE is ramping up for WrestleMania 35 and bringing its marketing partners along for the mega-activation and beyond.

WWE and Mars Inc. have expanded their alliance, with Snickers set to receive “significant visibility and consumer engagement across WWE’s global platforms at WrestleMania, scheduled for April 7 in MetLife Stadium, home for the NFL’s New York Giants and Jets.

Snickers will be the exclusive presenting partner of WrestleMania for the fourth consecutive year.

Beyond WrestleMania, Skittles is being added to the WWE roster to serve as the presenting partner for WWE’s Hell in a Cell event this September.

As with previous WrestleMania activation, WWE Superstars will promote the brand’s popular ‘You’re Not You When You’re Hungry’ campaign in custom content produced by WWE.

Creative will air in WWE’s flagship TV programs Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live on USA Network, and during WrestleMania 35 on WWE Network.

Content will also appear across WWE’s global digital and social platforms, including WWE’s YouTube channel, which has more than 40.5 million subscribers.

Marketing support again includes limited-edition Snickers packaging featuring five different WWE-themed Hunger Bars with catch phrases of five Superstars on the packaging: The Miz - Awesome, Lana - Ravishing, Bobby Roode - Glorious, AJ Styles  Phenomenal and Rusev - Brute.

Snickers lead agency is BBDO New York.

“WWE Superstars can’t perform in the ring and live up to their larger-than-life personalities if they’re hungry,” Josh Olken, brand director for Snickers, said via the company.

“We’re thrilled to be back for the fourth consecutive year as the presenting sponsor of WrestleMania, making sure that no one across WWE’s passionate fan base is hungry when getting their WrestleMania fix.”
 
The Snickers bars will be available March 18 through mid-April (or while supplies last) exclusively in Dollar General stores nationwide.

There will also be a special digital coupon on Snickers singles items, as well as a digital “Superstar-Yourself” experience on DollarGeneral.com.

Snickers will have a presence at WrestleMania Axxess, WWE’s five-day, interactive fan festival at Pier 12 in Brooklyn, NY; plus custom digital and social content sponsorships on WWE.com and YouTube as part of a multi-platform media campaign.

As part of the extended WrestleMania 35 takeover of New York, the New York Mets will host WWE Day at Citi Field on April 6 vs the Washington Nationals.

For WWE’s Hell in a Cell presented by Skittles, support will include a cross-platform promotion via WWE’s global media channels, a co-branded custom integration that will air in the telecast and additional partnership activations to be unveiled.

WWE last week unveiled Tampa Bay’s Raymond James Stadium as the site for WrestleMania 36 in April 2020.
