‘Fully Immersive’: EA Expands Teams, Partners, Activation For EA Sports FC 25

UPDATED September 16, 2024: With its official release fast-approaching, Electronic Arts has unveiled new and exclusive multi-year marketing partnerships, in-game integrations and the soundtrack for EA Sports FC 25, scheduled to drop Sept. 27.
This includes exclusive marketing and licensing partnerships with two iconic Italian clubs, AS Roma and SSC Napoli, as well as exclusive marketing partnerships with Fenerbahçe SK, Galatasaray S.K., FK Bodø/Glimt and Argentinian league Liga Profesional de Fútbol.
They contribute toward the 700-plus clubs and more than 30 leagues available in the game.
In addition, the new formats of the UEFA Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League will all feature exclusively in FC 25 Career and Tournament modes.
“With EA Sports FC 25, we’re continuing to build the most true-to-life experience of football,” James Salmon, senior marketing director, EA Sports FC, said via EA.
“Through new and ongoing partnerships with cherished clubs, in addition to new and upgraded stadiums, we’re delivering on our promise that players will be able to fully immerse themselves in the game they love.”
Real Madrid and England star Jude Bellingham is the cover athlete for EA Sports FC 25.
Electronic Arts has also released the official soundtrack of EA Sports FC 25, an international selection of music that will feature more than 110 songs from a global list of artists.
The playlist includes Ice Spice, Billie Eilish, Charli xcx, Coldplay, J Balvin, Delfina Dib and Catfish and the Bottlemen. (See the full playlist here.)
“FC 25 is a global celebration of new music that erases borders, embraces multiple genres, and delivers several surprises,” Steve Schnur, worldwide executive and president of music for Electronic Art, said via the video game company.
“The EA Music team has spent nearly a year curating an epic soundtrack that will define the sound of the coming season and elevate the spirit of the game like never before.”
EA Sports said FC 25 would not only feature the newest players and competitions but also bring 21 historic men’s and women’s legends in-game in the form of Heroes and ICONs.
The list of ICONs includes Gareth Bale, Lotta Schelin, Lilian Thuram, Gianluigi Buffon, Nadine Angerer, Marinette Pichon, Julie Foudy and Aya Miyama.
Following a decision by Electronic Arts in May 2022 to end its three-decade alliance with FIFA, EA begin publishing games under a new EA Sports Football Club brand in 2023, with EA FC 24 released in September of that year.EA Sports and FIFA had been aligned since 1993 but were unable to agree on a new licensing deal.
According to The New York Times, EA Sports-FIFA games “generated more than $20 billion in sales.”
As well as renewing multiple partnerships, EA Sports FC has been expanding existing partnerships including Ligue 1 McDonald’s, with several in-game additions and partnership renewals that will enhance the in-game experience of French clubs for fans.
Recent stadium inclusions include Stade Bollaert-Delelis and Orange Velodrome Stadium; as well as renewing a long standing partnership with Olympique de Marseille across a multi-year deal.
The Olympique de Marseille partnership will support the OM Next Gen and FC Futures program, EA Sports FC’s plan to “meaningfully invest in community-level football through product innovation, community investment and partner initiatives across the foundations of football.”
More information will be revealed later in the year.
Other leagues featured include the Premier League, LALIGA EA Sports, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 McDonald’s, Serie A Enilive, CONMEBOL Libertadores, Barclays Women's Super League, National Women's Soccer League.
The news comes alongside confirmation that more than 120 authentic football stadiums from across the world will feature in EA Sports FC 25. (See the full list here.)
